AI bedroom design
AI bedroom design, on a photo of the bedroom you sleep in
A bedroom redesign is mostly about calm: the bed, the headboard, the bedding, the light and a color you want to wake up to. It's also the room people most often leave unfinished, because it's not the one guests see. Tigmi redesigns a photo of your bedroom, furnished or empty, in the style you choose, and keeps the windows, the doors and the closet where they are, so you can decide what to change before you spend a weekend repainting.

Before: the photoTigmi redesigns a bedroom from one photo in a couple of minutes: bed and headboard, bedding, nightstands, lighting, rug, curtains and wall color, with the windows, doors and built-in closets kept. It works on furnished and on empty rooms, and the result is a picture to choose a style, not a plan to scale.
Four real bedrooms, redesigned with Tigmi
One furnished bedroom and three empty ones, all real photographs, each next to the Tigmi redesign. Notice the closet, the ceiling fan, the heaters and the windows: they're all still there.

After: TigmiA furnished bedroom with a tray ceiling, wall panel moldings and grey carpet, redesigned in Japandi Calm. The tray ceiling, the moldings, the window and even the light switch stayed; the bed, bedding and lamps are new, the pendants became paper lanterns and the carpet a wide oak floor.

One empty bedroom, seven styles
An empty bedroom with a tiled floor and one shuttered window, photographed on a phone and furnished by Tigmi in seven styles. The floor, the window and the ceiling are the same in every version, which is what makes the comparison useful: you're choosing a style for this room, not for seven different ones.

What to expect from the redesign
What Tigmi changes
- The bed, headboard and bedding, from a low platform bed to an upholstered headboard.
- Nightstands, lamps, a bench or an armchair, the rug and the curtains.
- Wall color and wall treatments such as paneling behind the bed, when the style calls for it and Room Lock is off.
- Art, plants and small objects, kept sparse in calm styles and layered in warmer ones.
What stays
- Windows, doors and built-in closets, sliding doors included (Room Lock, on paid plans).
- Fixed things on the ceiling, such as a fan or a light point, and the ceiling height.
- The size of the room and the camera angle, so the bed stays in proportion to the walls.
Where it falls short
- The bed size is the AI's guess: a bed that looks right in the image might be a queen in a room that only fits a full. Check with a tape measure.
- In an empty room, the AI chooses where the bed goes. If you have a wall in mind, say so in your notes ("bed against the wall opposite the window").
- It doesn't know where your radiator or outlets are, or which window you need to open: don't put the headboard across either just because the image did.
- Very dark photos of bedrooms at night give muddy results; the redesign is only as good as the light in the photo.
How to take the photo
01
Stand in the doorway or a corner
Most bedrooms are photographed best from the door, looking toward the window wall. Include the wall where the bed is or would go.
02
Make the bed, or empty the room
An unmade bed and clothes on a chair are redrawn as part of the room. Either tidy up or, for a new layout, photograph the room as empty as you can.
03
Daylight, curtains open
Bedrooms tend to be dim. Open the curtains, switch on the ceiling light and avoid the flash, which flattens the walls.
04
Say the bed size and what stays
Notes such as "queen bed, headboard on the wall opposite the window, keep the wardrobe" stop the AI from guessing. Then change one thing at a time: if only the rug is wrong, ask only for a new rug.
Numbers to check before you buy
Before you fall for a king bed in a redesign, check what fits. Mattress sizes are standard; the clearances are designers' rules of thumb for moving comfortably around the bed.
| Queen mattress | 60 × 80 in (152 × 203 cm) [1] |
|---|---|
| King mattress | 76 × 80 in (193 × 203 cm) [1] |
| Paths around the room | 30–36 in (76–91 cm) wide [2] |
| Space beside the bed | a circle about 30 in (76 cm) across, to stand and get in [2] |
| Nightstand height | usually 26–28 in (66–71 cm), roughly level with the top of the mattress [2] |
A redesign is a picture, not a plan: it isn't to scale. Check these against your own measurements.
Styles that work well here
Japandi Calm
A low bed, linen bedding, pale wood and almost nothing on the walls. The style people pick most for a bedroom that feels restful.
Nordic Light
White, oak and soft grey with layered textiles: makes a small or north-facing bedroom feel brighter.
Artisanal Boho
Rattan, macramé, plants and warm terracotta. Turns a plain rental bedroom into somewhere with character.
Modern Haven
An upholstered bed, warm neutrals and matte black details: hotel-like and easy to recreate with store-bought furniture.
Questions people ask
Can AI design my bedroom from a photo?
Yes. Upload a photo of the bedroom, pick a style and add notes if you like. Tigmi replaces the bed, bedding, nightstands, lighting, rug, curtains and decor, and keeps the windows, doors and closets, in a couple of minutes.
Can it furnish an empty bedroom?
Yes. Three of the examples on this page started as empty rooms. Tigmi places a bed, nightstands, lighting and a rug in the style you choose, which is also how estate agents stage empty listings.
How do I know the bed will fit?
The redesign isn't to scale, so measure. A queen mattress is 60 × 80 inches (152 × 203 cm) and a king 76 × 80 inches (193 × 203 cm); add the frame, about 30 inches (76 cm) on the side you get in from, and the path to the door and the closet.
What size rug goes under a bed?
One that reaches well past both sides of the bed, so your feet land on it when you get up. A small rug floating at the foot of the bed looks lost in real life, even when it looks fine in a render. Two runners, one on each side, work when a large rug doesn't fit.
Can I keep my own bed or dresser?
Yes. Add a photo of up to three pieces you own and Tigmi places them in the design. The AI redraws them, so details can differ slightly from the real thing.
Is it free?
Tigmi gives 3 designs a month for free, in 1K with a small watermark. Paid plans start at $14 a month with 2K images, no watermark and Room Lock.
