AI bathroom design
AI bathroom design: try new tile and fixtures on your real bathroom
Bathrooms are small, so every choice shows: the tile, the vanity, the mirror, the color of the grout. They're also the room where a mistake is the hardest to undo. Tigmi redesigns a photo of your bathroom in the style you choose and keeps the room as it is, with the window, the door and the toilet, tub or shower where the plumbing already is. You see the finished look first, and decide with the tiler later.

Before: the photoTigmi turns one photo of a bathroom into a redesign in a couple of minutes: new wall and floor tile, vanity, mirror, lighting, paint and accessories, with the window, door and fixture positions kept. It's useful to choose materials and a mood, not to plan the plumbing.
Four real bathrooms, redesigned with Tigmi
Real photos of ordinary bathrooms, each next to its Tigmi redesign. Check the window, the door and where the toilet and bath sit: the room is the same, only the finishes and fittings are new.

After: TigmiA small bathroom with subway tile, a pedestal sink and a tub behind a dark curtain, redesigned in Classic Elegance. The toilet, the tub and the sink stayed where the plumbing is; the walls are now marble and paneling, the pedestal sink a cream vanity, and the fittings brushed brass.

After: TigmiA builder-grade bathroom with a beige counter, a white tub surround and a floral shower curtain, redesigned in Japandi Calm with plaster walls, a walnut vanity, a stone basin and a paper lantern. The toilet, the tub and the vanity kept their places, but the tub itself was redrawn in concrete, which would be a much bigger job than new finishes.

After: TigmiA new, all-white bathroom with a grey shaker vanity and black shelves, redesigned in Mediterranean Contemporary with zellige tile, plaster walls, terracotta floor tiles and brass fittings. The door, the toilet, the vanity and the corner of the tub are unchanged.

What to expect from the redesign
What Tigmi changes
- Wall and floor tile: size, color and pattern, from zellige and terrazzo to large-format stone.
- The vanity, the basin, the mirror and the faucets, in the finish of the style (brass, matte black, chrome).
- Paint, lighting (sconces, a backlit mirror) and accessories such as towels, plants and baskets.
What stays
- The window and the door, with their frames (Room Lock, on paid plans).
- The places of the toilet, the bath or shower and the basin, which is where your pipes are.
- The size of the room and the camera angle, so you can lay the before and after side by side.
Where it falls short
- The AI may swap a tub for a walk-in shower or the other way round, or change the size of a fixture. If it does, treat it as an idea, and ask a plumber what it would involve.
- It doesn't know about ventilation, waterproofing or electrical safety zones: lights and sockets near water follow rules a picture can't check.
- Small bathrooms photographed from the doorway often show only part of the room, and the redesign can only work with what the photo shows.
How to take the photo
01
Shoot from the door, phone held high
In a small bathroom, stand in the doorway and hold the phone a little above chest height, so you see the floor, the vanity and the bath or shower in one frame.
02
Use the wide lens, carefully
The 0.5× lens helps in a tight bathroom, but keep the phone level so the walls don't lean. One straight photo beats three tilted ones.
03
Lights on, mirror off-axis
Turn on every light and avoid facing the mirror head-on: the AI can mistake your reflection and the flash for part of the room.
04
Put away bottles and towels
Shampoo bottles, bath mats and a laundry basket all get redrawn. Clear them away and the redesign shows the room, not the clutter.
Numbers to check before you buy
A redesign doesn't move pipes, but if you take the idea further, these are the minimum clearances in the International Residential Code, used in most of the United States. Many designers aim for more: they are a floor, not a target.
| In front of the toilet | at least 21 in (53 cm) of clear floor [1] |
|---|---|
| Toilet centerline to a side wall or cabinet | at least 15 in (38 cm) [1] |
| Shower, inside | at least 30 in (76 cm) in each direction and 900 sq in (0.58 m²) of floor [2] |
| In front of the shower opening | at least 24 in (61 cm) of clear floor [2] |
A redesign is a picture, not a plan: it isn't to scale. Check these against your own measurements.
Styles that work well here
Japandi Calm
Wood, stone and soft whites with few objects on show: a calm bathroom that's easy to keep tidy.
Classic Elegance
Marble, polished nickel and paneled walls suit older homes and pedestal basins, and age well.
Mediterranean Contemporary
Plaster walls, terracotta or zellige tile and warm light; a good way to make a small white bathroom feel like a holiday.
Loft Industrial
Concrete-look tile, black fittings and a wood vanity. Works well with grey or builder-grade bathrooms.
Questions people ask
Can AI redesign my bathroom?
Yes, from a photo. Tigmi changes the tile, the vanity, the mirror, lighting, paint and accessories in the style you choose, and keeps the window, the door and where the toilet, bath and basin are. It shows a finished look, not a technical plan, so the plumbing, waterproofing and electrics still need a professional.
Will it move my toilet or shower?
With Room Lock on (paid plans), the fixtures normally stay where they are, as in the examples on this page. The AI can still restyle a fixture or suggest a walk-in shower instead of a tub; moving a toilet or a drain is a real plumbing job, so treat that kind of change as an idea to price.
Can I try a specific tile?
You can describe it in your notes, for example "green zellige behind the vanity, white hexagon floor", and the redesign will follow it closely, though not tile for tile. Shop the Look then searches retailers in your country for products similar to what's in the image.
Is it free?
Tigmi gives 3 designs a month for free, in 1K with a small watermark. Paid plans start at $14 a month with 2K images, no watermark and Room Lock.
Does it work for small bathrooms?
Yes, as long as the photo shows the room: shoot from the doorway with the wide lens and the phone level. Light colors, a large mirror and a wall-hung vanity are often the most useful ideas to test in a small bathroom.
